I’ve come to the conclusion that we are a nation of gluttons. Not only when it comes to food, but in so many areas of our lives. We have too much. Too many choices, too easily obtained.
In art we seem to perpetuate the stereotype of the weak female who can’t think for herself or one who isn’t willing to risk her own safety to save someone else.
Rosa Parks did not yell and scream. She did not have a mob behind her yelling and screaming about her rights as a woman and as a human being. Rosa Parks sat on a bus and refused to move. Hers is just one example of demonstrating power. As a woman and as a human being. We could all learn from her example.
As our social media activity increases we become more and more anti-social. The harder we try to be heard the more difficult it becomes. The more we want to be seen, the less we are noticed.
What I want to say to those who keep posting on Facebook and other social media about their sadness and resentment is this: Grow the hell up. Life’s not fair. You don’t always get what you want. Get over it and move on and toughen up. Because if you’ve still got your panties in a wad over an election that wasn’t even close, you have a tough future ahead of you.
